A great paradox of the society nowadays is that, even though you have the resources to get informed about anything you want, you still are not able to decide which product is best suited to your needs. The same holds true for food, in a more serious degree than for all other products. Because nowadays all companies, programs and products want to cater to the needs of virtually everybody, or in any case a number of people as high as possible, they try to develop universal solutions. This will never hold true or function when speaking of weight loss plans. The only universal method of losing weight is by not eating, which is really the worse approach to losing weight ever known.
I don’t have a LOT of experience at juicing, but I’ll be happy to share what I have done. We bought a juicer a couple of years ago. I don’t remember the brand, and we left the juicer behind in our move a year ago, from a 4 b/r house to a 1 b/r apartment. That juicer was one in which you cut the food item up into chunks, and then place the chunks in a hopper and push an insert down to move the chunks into the juicing area.I believe it was called a masticating juicer.
The juice came out from a spout, and the pulp was left behind. I enjoyed the fresh juice that we got. We used that juicer on oranges, pineapples, apples, and melons, primarily. It worked great; and if you’re one who dislikes pulp, you’d like it. I like pulp, however, and I used to eat the pulp from the pulp collector. Continue Reading »
I’m on a quest right now to find new countertops for my kitchen that easy to keep clean and sanitary.
I’m considering two different ones right now. Quartz and granite.
I like quartz kitchen countertops because of how easy they are to clean and maintain. Silestone makes ones that has an antibacterial quality built right into them. I like that.
Granite is also very easy to keep clean and sanitary but my convern is about taking care of them over the long haul. They are more work and the fact that they are porous also concerns me.
One of the things I have been doing my entire life is clamping my jaw when I feel stressed. It’s not something that I ever realize that I do.
If I sit in heavy traffic I clench my teeth, if I’m about to give a board presentation I do it, even simple things like thinking about the pile of laundry in the basement causes me to clench my jaw without even realizing I’m doing it.
Sometimes, under really stressful situations, my jaw will actually begin to hurt.
It’s come to my attention that I also grind my teeth while sleeping at night. My dentist confirmed it by telling me that I have wear patterns in my teeth that are typical of someone the grinds while sleeping.
He recommended that I get check out mouth guards for grinding. He told me to try the OTC varieties and that if that doesn’t work I can come back and get fitted for a custom mouth guard.
How depressing.
Another health care issue to look after as I get older.
Dieticians and nutritionists often recommend super ingredients we should be incorporating into our diets regularly, and it is sometimes hard to understand which is what. We know there are plenty good foods to try, but the ones mentioned below have been proven to be some of the healthiest superfoods.
Lemons are good choices, because one single lemon contains more than our daily intake of vitamin C. Vitamin C helps increase good cholesterol levels, strengthens bones and boosts the immune system. Moreover, the citrus flavonoids that can be found in lemons are said to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. Lemons should always be on your grocery list also because they act as anti-inflammatory agents.
Broccoli makes a fantastic choice too, because broccoli contains a lot of vitamin K. One medium stalk will provide more than what you need daily. Furthermore, it has more vitamin C than lemons, so we would say it should be in your shopping bag too. It’s also a staple of just about every raw food diet plan.
Dark chocolate is also beneficial, since just one small piece eaten daily can reduce blood pressure. You should also know that the cocoa powder in dark chocolate is rich in flavonoids. These are antioxidants which have been proven to reduce bad cholesterol and increase good cholesterol levels. Therefore, one piece a day will do you good.
